Backed by a $50 million NSW Government grant (with additional council and federal contributions), this is the largest construction project ever undertaken by Hornsby Shire Council, aimed at turning the disused quarry pit into a unique destination for recreation, nature, and community events.
Stage 1 is a 42m Viewing Platform designed by AJC Architects aptly named Southern Lookout offering panoramic views across the surrounding bushlands.
In collaboration with Ford Civil Contracting the Dunsteel Group is pleased to be working on the construction of this Viewing Platform with fabrication and assembly well underway for the 13m flight of stairs, 14m high tapered columns and the massive 42 long viewing deck itself.
