At Taronga Zoo, Dunsteel delivered a complex steel installation within the Centenary Theatre precinct, working under strict site constraints to ensure minimal disruption to the animals.

The team worked closely with zookeepers to carefully schedule noisy works around animal rest periods. Certain tasks were restricted to narrow windows when the animals were active, ensuring their sleeping patterns remained undisturbed.

The project scope also included the fabrication and installation of a range of fencing and screening throughout the zoo grounds.

Even with the challenges of operating in a live zoo environment and coordinating around the animals’ sleeping schedules, the team completed the works efficiently and without interrupting day-to-day operations.
