The Nigel Love Building at Sydney Airport was transformed into a collaborative hub with the addition of striking feature stairs that connect to existing floors and create an open, connected staff environment. Completed within a live international terminal, this project required meticulous staging to avoid disruption to airport operations (working while the site was operational).
Dunsteel engineered and installed these stairs as part of a broader refit that included breakout spaces, meeting rooms, and a café-style kitchen, all influenced by Sydney Airport’s palette of soft timber, burnt orange, and sleek black.
The staircase now serves as a visual and functional focal point, enhancing spatial interaction and promoting a sense of openness among staff. It brings architectural elegance and workplace functionality into a busy, high-stakes environment.
